Our Gym

We have a high energy environment and like to mix things up, we will get you using muscles you didn’t know you had!

Our main aim is to help push you through those physical and mental battles to get you the Results you want. We have hand picked all of our equipment to cater for all types of training and levels to give you more variety and an unique gym experience.

We have running track, ninja rings, gymnastic rings, climbing rope, battle rope, slam and wall balls, monkey bars, suspension/bungee, barbell weights, Bulgarian bags, cable machine, kettlebells, Tribars, boxing bags, assault bike, rower, treadmill and Ski Erg.

My journey started when I weighed 115kg with an inactive hospitality lifestyle.
I joined a gym and started training but nothing worked until I started with Lisa. She made me commit completely and this is when I started getting the results. I began to lose weight and gain some strength I also started ‘CrossFit’ and in my first worldwide competition I came 255th in the world, 33rd in Europe and 13th in the UK.
After CrossFit I have developed my own style of training combined with PT. This is what inspired me to become a trainer and help others change their life like I did mine.

I started Training when I was around 19 in just weights and basic cardio. I felt that I was learning good lifting techniques but needed some sort of achievement, previously as a child I had trained in Karate. I use to watch all the Rocky’s so I wanted to do boxing. However, I could not find any Boxing gyms near me so I thought I would give kickboxing a try…. 3 titles later and around 30 Fights under my belt I feel I’m in a good position to pass on what I have learnt. My style is a basic, but effective way of training. KIS …. Keep it Simple! If you don’t have to think about It too much and concentrate on doing and enjoying, I believe you can achieve more from training.

My yoga practice was founded 20 years ago when I joined The Temple of Comprehensive Yoga to complete their Yoga Instructor training course . In 2001 Advanced Instructor was added and also Yoga for Kids . With over 1000 hrs learning under my belt I have now added another 500 for trapeze.
I have attended various workshops and retreats around the world including India and Europe , leading me to qualify as a Yoga Trapeze Instructor in Barcelona Spain in 2018 .
As a qualified PT , lev 3 fitness And Exercise to music Instructor my teaching of mat based Hatha yoga has always from a strong stance incorporated with a vinyasa element . Yoga trapeze now compliments this nicely .
I am excited to once again bring this wealth of knowledge and experience to my new classes .
The beauty of yoga is that their is always so much more for us to learn .

DO I need to work out every day?

You can work out as little or often as you want every session will give you benefits both physically and mentally.

How Long do I need to work out for?

Ideally at least 30 minutes but the average time is 45 minutes to an hour in order to get the benefits required for progression.

Do I need to vary my workout to see results?

Yes in order to get the best results you need to keep your body guessing and change your training! This is the best way to stop you from plateauing and keeps you on a steady road to reaching your goals.

How do I get a six pack?

Unfortunately lying down doing hundreds of crunches doesn’t get you that sixpack you want. A combination of weight loss exercises and a calorie deficit to reduce your body fat and a variation of weighted and body weighted abdominal exercises to improve strength and size of the abdominals and obliques.

What type of training do I need to do to increase muscle mass?

Increasing the load progressively is a must for all fitness levels, from beginner to advanced, if you want to stimulate muscle growth.  As you get stronger, choose a harder exercise variation or do more reps. A good rule of thumb is if you can easily do more than 12 reps it might be time to consider a harder exercises or an increase in weight/ reduce rest period or combining 2 of more exercises for the same muscle group.

What type of training do I need to do to lose weight?

The most effective training for weight loss is HIIT (high intensity interval training). This is when you Max out full effort and increase your heart rate as high as possible for short period of time and then recover for example 20 seconds high-intensity 30 seconds rest, this will shock your body the most and burn a higher amount of calories even after you finish training.

When should I stretch and how often?

Ideally you want to do a warmup with some active stretching then complete your workout and have a cool down and full body stretch. you should do this every time you train to reduce injury and lactic acid build up. if you want to increase flexibility then increase the amount of time you hold the stretch for and the amount of times you stretch between each session.

how does exercise help mental health?

Exercise releases endorphins and serotonin which is a feelgood factor in the body and mind you get a great sense of achievement and more motivation after training. If you exercise regularly , it can reduce your stress and anxiety but also help with conditions like depression and anger management issues.
